You will be a critical member of a growing technology team, working on new development and maintenance for a leading US automotive business.

The platform will be central to powering a suite of customer and employee-facing applications. Some of the applications that are on the roadmap are:

Development of an event-based, service oriented/microservices architecture to facilitate the development of application services to power all applications Inventory management platform - powering all inventory applications and data across the business, collating and augmenting a series of data sources, augmenting data and exposing REST and GraphQL services Customer sales platform - powering an interactive application utilizing business and third-party data, CRM integration and machine learning to create a personalized recommendations platform We are looking for a strong technologist to work with the technology, product, marketing and data teams to drive technical innovation and deliver best-in-class digital products and services.

The role will entail:

Architecting, designing, developing and deploying a new data-driven, microservice-based application platform built on the Azure platform. Stewardship of existing services and applications written with varying Microsoft and web technologies that support current operations. The ability to assess long-term viability of these services, devise paths of improvement, and help define the work of replacement/re-platforming where necessary. The ability to document, diagram and socialize specifications of existing and new services to facilitate collaboration within the product/engineering team will be critical to achieve this goal.

Be a thought leader on growing team, mentor more junior team members and deliver innovative digital products that will drive the digital transformation of the business.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience with the Microsoft .NET cloud/web stack, or be able to demonstrate your ability to be a polyglot by having diverse experiences with similar technologies (i.e. Java, Python, Kotlin, Next.js, Node.js, etc.) A strong understanding of the costs/benefits/architecture of cloud platforms as they pertain to software development. Our preferred cloud platform is Azure, so speaking to that specifically or understanding the analog features to AWS, GCP, etc. is important. Advanced knowledge of both T-SQL and NoSQL based database solutions. Strong acumen toward architecture and modern software engineering concepts such as dev-ops, design patterns, 12-factor applications, understanding of the Pareto principle (80/20 rule), and where to document when self-documenting code is not enough. Ambition to explore, assess practicality and experiment to improve dev experience and business applications through emerging technologies such as AI LLMs and agents. RELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:

You will work with engineering leadership to align the problems to solve. You will work with the growing Technology and Delivery teams (product, project management, engineering, IT and DevOps) to collaborate on and implement solutions, You'll work with the Data team (reporting, analytics, data science and machine learning) to ensure our results are measurable and impactful. You'll engage with the Marketing team (digital marketing, UX, visual design) to help with designs that are critical to driving traffic and customers to our business.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position is open to English-speaking candidates in Latin America, United States, or Canada.
