Position Summary:
Mid-Career Breast Cancer Oncologist at The University of Nebraska Medical Center
The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and its clinical partner, Nebraska Medicine, is seeking a passionate and skilled Mid-Career Breast Cancer Physician to join our multidisciplinary team at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, NE. The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is the flagship cancer center of Nebraska Medicine and UNMC. The center integrates leading-edge research, outstanding clinical care, and innovative education to deliver personalized treatment plans for patients battling cancer.
Position Overview: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in breast oncology and a commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care. As a member of our team, you will collaborate with experts across various disciplines to develop individualized treatment plans, participate in cutting-edge research initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of breast cancer care.
This is an exciting opportunity to join more than 200 oncologists, translational and basic scientists working together fusing science and medicine to speed up breakthroughs in the lab and deliver state-of-the-art care to patients. As part of the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium, a unique team-research culture drives science rapidly from ideas to treatment-changing paradigms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with breast cancer, including diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, including surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and support staff, to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Participate in clinical trials and research studies aimed at improving outcomes for patients with breast cancer.
- Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board certified in medical oncology and/or hematology and has experience in treating breast cancer.
- Fellowship training in breast oncology or significant experience in the management of breast cancer patients.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care, research, and education.
