As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking an experienced and driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help lead our financial operations, manage risk, and ensure strategic financial planning to support the company’s long-term objectives.

Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of Everfence, including financial planning, risk management, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The CFO will work closely with the executive leadership team to drive strategic growth initiatives and improve financial performance. This position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy & Leadership:
    1. Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
    2. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and other senior executives to guide business decisions and improve profitability.
    3. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, providing financial advice on key decisions and long-term strategies.
    4. Lead the annual budgeting process and develop financial forecasts based on market trends, historical performance, and future projections.
    5. Prepare and present regular financial reports to the Board of Directors, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
    6. Analyze financial performance and operational efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimization.
  2. Cash Flow & Risk Management:
    1. Oversee cash flow management and ensure adequate liquidity to support the company’s operations and growth initiatives.
    2. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company’s assets and minimize financial exposure.
    3. Lead efforts to ensure the company maintains proper insurance coverage and adherence to financial regulations.
  3. Compliance & Financial Reporting:
    1. Ensure the company complies with all financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
    2. Oversee the preparation and filing of accurate financial statements and tax returns.
    3. Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial consultants.
  4. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
  5. Manage the recruitment, training, and professional development of finance department personnel.
  6. Ensure that financial processes, controls, and systems are continually optimized for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Construction Industry Experience
  • Experience in Leadership in a senior financial management role.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, financial analysis, and budgeting processes.
  • Experience in the construction or similar industries (preferred, but not required).
  • Proven track record in managing risk, cash flow, and strategic financial planning.
  • In-depth understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (Xero preferred).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to interact with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and present it in an easily understandable manner.
