We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead our SRE Analytics function. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining complex data solutions that transform raw data into actionable business insights.

About the Team

The Senior Software Engineer/Data Analyst team is a highly skilled and diverse group of professionals responsible for delivering actionable insights and data-driven decision-making capabilities to Walmart's executive leadership. Leveraging advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data visualization tools like Python, R, Tableau/Looker, the team designs and deploys interactive dashboards, develops balanced scorecards and operational excellence KPI reporting, and uses machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and predict future trends.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and deploy interactive dashboards using Tableau and Looker to visualize insights for stakeholders.
  • Develop balanced scorecards and operational excellence KPI reporting for executive leadership.
  • Use machine learning algorithms (e.g., decision trees, random forests, neural networks) to identify patterns and predict future trends.
  • Conduct statistical analysis, such as hypothesis testing and variance analysis, to uncover data relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define analytics requirements and integrate predictive insights into business processes.
  • Perform data preprocessing, outlier detection, and handling missing values for model optimization.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in advanced data analytics with proficiency in Python, R, SQL.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Familiarity with big data platforms like Hadoop or Spark or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of time series analysis methods like ARIMA and seasonal decomposition.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline architecture.
  • Exceptional communication skills to present complex analyses to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in predictive modeling techniques such as regression models, clustering, classification, and neural networks.
  • Knowledge of text analytics or natural language processing (NLP).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
