Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Procurement IT Director to manage our IT sourcing and lead negotiations with key vendors who are also our customers. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of influencing senior executives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in IT procurement, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive positive change throughout the organization.
Travel expectations can be up to 25%, primarily within the US, along with some international travel.
What will you do in this position?
Strategic Sourcing:
- Lead and cultivate relationships with major suppliers (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Google, NTT, SAP, etc.).
- Manage high-value contracts and the entire Source to Contract process.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and formalize business requirements.
- Assess the technology vendor market to identify optimal sourcing options.
- Lead RFPs, negotiations, and supplier selections to meet business needs.
- Ensure alignment with legal and compliance requirements during contract negotiations.
Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management:
- Analyze and optimize cost and operational efficiencies.
- Deliver value through strong collaboration with stakeholders.
- Proactively manage the supplier panel, evaluating performance, risk, and innovation.
- Prepare and lead business reviews with strategic suppliers.
Stakeholder Management:
- Develop global supplier strategies to achieve cost reductions and optimize spending.
- Build effective and trusted relationships with functional leaders and key stakeholders.
- Lead transformation and change management in supplier strategy deployment.
- Utilize negotiation and influencing skills to gain support across all organizational levels.
What qualifications will make you successful for this position?
- Bachelor degree in IT, Business Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field is required. Master’s degree or procurement certification are a plus.
- 10-15 years of experience in IT software category management.
- Strong strategic sourcing and category management expertise.
- Deep knowledge of IT software and sourcing options.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex agreements, including performance clauses and critical terms.
- Strong team leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to navigate complexities and work collaboratively across organizational boundaries.
- Self-directed, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
