Job Title: Employment Attorney - Special Counsel
Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in Boston, MA is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join its team as Special Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled professional with over seven years of experience in employment law and litigation to support a wide range of clients. This role offers flexibility with a mostly remote work environment while providing the challenge of handling full-cycle litigation, including administrative charges, demand letters, and single-plaintiff litigation.
Duties:
- Manage and handle employment-related matters, including administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and litigation.
- Develop case strategies and draft/review legal documents.
- Conduct depositions and represent clients at hearings, conferences, and trials.
- Supervise and guide other attorneys and support staff in managing cases.
- Collaborate closely with partners and other team members to ensure the highest quality legal work.
- Provide legal counsel to clients, including those with Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI).
- Assist in handling potential class actions, PAGA cases, and other labor and employment law matters.
- Minimal local travel may be required for hearings or client meetings.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment law and litigation.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage a full caseload remotely.
- Strong background in administrative charges, employment litigation, and demand letters.
- Familiarity with matters covered by EPLI.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients in a virtual office environment.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Bar admission in Massachusetts is required. Bar admission in California is a plus.
Skills:
- Expertise in employment law, particularly litigation.
- Strong writing, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to think strategically and manage complex legal matters.
- Ability to work well independently while collaborating with a virtual team.
- Proficiency with virtual office tools and legal research software.
Job Location:
