Pediatric Cardiologist

El Paso Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time pediatric cardiologist to support our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care, leadership, and innovation alongside our team of dedicated providers. Although patient care is our primary focus, education and research are also encouraged and supported through our collaboration with Texas Tech University School of Medicine and the Pediatric residency program. Our practice is located in El Paso, TX, providing inpatient and outpatient support for West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Northern Mexico.

Position Summary

The position encompasses responsibilities in patient care, administration, program development, safety, quality, and access for imaging services. This position will work with the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and the leadership of El Paso Children’s to execute on yearly personal and programmatic goals focused on the fundamentals of extraordinary care: safety, quality, patient experiences, access, and stewardship. Routine patient care will include: management of acute and intermediate care cardiac patients, inpatient consultation, supervision of advanced practice providers, hospital service, and outpatient clinic.

5. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Minimum Position Requirements

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training.

License/Registration/Certification:

• Current Board Certification or Board Eligibility in the specialty of planned clinical activity.
• Eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License.
• Current specialty-specific cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Education and Training:

• Completion of a four-year M.D./D.O. degree program and medical residency.
• M.D./D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree. Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program.
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program.
• Experience in teaching students and residents in Pediatric Cardiology.
• Preference will be given to those candidates with additional training in cardiac imaging.
