Elder Research Inc. is a Data Science consulting firm specialized in providing analytic solutions to clients in Commercial and Government industries. We are trusted advisors to our clients, building lasting relationships and partnering as preferred analytics providers.

Summary of Position:

As a Data Scientist, you will work directly with clients, managers, and technical staff to understand business needs, develop technical plans, and deliver data-driven analytical solutions that solve client problems. You will primarily create and deploy predictive models from a wide variety of data sources and types using the latest mathematical and statistical methods.

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform data science capabilities using analytic environments such as Databricks and open-source analytic code such as R, Python, and SQL.
  2. Deploy products (e.g., dashboards, workflows, decision support algorithms, etc.) for operational use on data platforms like Advana.
  3. Create prototypes/proof of concept demonstrations utilizing rapid development of new data pipelines.
  4. Deploy validated models into production to support the development of decision support tools, dashboards, and workflows.
  5. Perform statistical learning and pattern recognition through unsupervised, supervised, and reinforcement learning methods.
  6. Leverage deep learning techniques/technologies such as neural networks/Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) to create large-language models (LLMs).

Job Specifications/Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or closely related IT field.
  2. 3+ years of experience
  3. Experience working with Python
  4. Experience with SQL
  5. Experience with R
  6. AWS Experience
  7. Willingness to learn

Desired Skills:

  1. Experience with Advana is a plus
  2. Experience with CDAO is a plus
  3. Familiarity with the mission space and Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (O is a plus)
