Data Scientist (Amy)

Data Scientist Responsibilities Include:

1. Undertaking data collection, preprocessing and analysis
2. Building models to address business problems
3. Presenting information using data visualization techniques
4. Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
5. Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
6. Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
7. Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
8. Combine models through ensemble modeling
9. Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
10. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
2. Experience in data mining
3. Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
4. Knowledge of R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
5. Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)
6. Analytical mind and business acumen
7. Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
8. Problem-solving aptitude
9. Excellent communication and presentation skills
10. BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred

• Bachelors or better in Computer Science
