Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Research & Design Engineer to lead our Additive Shop. This role is vital to our team and involves reporting directly to the Technology Center San Francisco Manager. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with R&D Engineers across North America to facilitate and coordinate a variety of projects within the Additive Shop, supporting groundbreaking research and product development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate projects in the Additive Shop, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timelines.
- Provide advanced technical support and knowledge in additive manufacturing processes, technologies, and best practices (Large-Format Printing SME, Additive Robotics SME).
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive interdisciplinary projects. Contribute to Research Outcomes and Digital Twin development at the Technology Centers.
- Participate in research initiatives to explore new materials, methods, and technologies that enhance additive manufacturing capabilities. Conduct new material and equipment research to ensure we are doing cutting-edge work at our facility.
- Conduct machine training courses for Autodesk Researchers and Residents, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Drive creative problem-solving and innovative thinking to address challenges and improve processes within the Additive Shop.
- Machine Maintenance, Consumables Ordering, and Additive Shop Organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in additive manufacturing, including knowledge of various 3D printing technologies and materials.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
