Job Description - Senior Economist (2508X)
LOCATION: Boston, Massachusetts. Some telework is available. Requires up to 10% domestic travel for company trainings, events, etc.
DUTIES
Contribute to the definition of case strategy by reviewing, analyzing, and discussing private documents and published research. Produce high-quality written work products (e.g., drafting memos and expert reports). Formulate, develop, and implement complex and customized valuation models. Produce presentations in MS PowerPoint for meetings with clients and counsels to present concise explanations of complex analyses. Interface with senior staff, clients, academic experts, and other parties outside Compass Lexecon to obtain and evaluate information. Lead case teams (e.g., provide effective team communication, provide clear instructions, and offer appropriate availability for follow-up questions). Effectively coordinate overall communication on the team to facilitate workflow and resolve issues as appropriate (e.g., suggest staffing or other adjustments to ensure on-time project completion). Ensure the team conducts analyses efficiently, establish reasonable deadlines, and manage the team’s time effectively.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Job requires Bachelor's degree in Econometrics, Economics, Finance or a related field and 3 years of experience in any job title in a litigation support environment involving financial analysis and data organization/management.
Must have 3 years of prior experience with the following:
- Experience with antitrust issues and using economic/econometric modeling.
- Experience working with SAS, STATA, R, or MATLAB.
- Experience directing data collection and data processing.
Must have 2 years of prior experience with the following:
- Experience writing expert reports on economic and financial issues.
- Experience using qualitative and quantitative methods in litigation support work.
- Experience working in the general legal framework for conducting damages assessments and analyzing the economic incentives underlying complex contracts.
