Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and create new EDI transactions and interfaces to SAP.
  • Implement new trading partners on new and existing transaction sets.
  • Work with operations in implementation of EDI related system requirements.
  • Participate in EDI support.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and implement solutions for assigned Trouble Tickets.
  • Work with Technical Services in implementation of Gentran system upgrades.
  • Work with Technical Services in implementation scripting/jobs for new processes.
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of systems development/analysis with at least 3 of those years directly supporting EDI initiatives.
  • Must be able to effectively balance time resources to perform simultaneous work on multiple projects and/or tasks.

Technical:

  • A moderate understanding of the Company's computer operating system.
  • A good understanding of the operating system's commands.
  • Proficient in SAP - as relates to EDI and Idocs.
  • Use of moderately complex to complex debugging techniques.
  • Adherence to all of the Company's naming and coding standards.
  • A good understanding of SAP tables & data relationships.
  • Basic understanding of computer networks.

Business:

  • An understanding of the business purpose of assigned tasks.
  • General understanding of EDI as it relates to the different business processes.
  • A general understanding of each of the Company's business areas.

Other:

  • Ability to perform independent project work.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effectively work with Internal and External customers.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective use of reference materials.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with IS personnel.
