Our mission at Sevita is to create a world where every person has the right to live well. As a Mentor Recruiter with California MENTOR Family Home Agency, each day the connections you make and the compassion you bring make a difference in the lives of our participants.

This is a unique program that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live with host-home providers, who we call "Mentors." As a Mentor Recruiter, you would attend community events, host information sessions about the program, and promote the services in order to source and certify new host-home providers, AKA "Mentors," in the East Los Angeles area.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate targeted marketing including advertising and hosting information sessions.
  • Represent the company at community events, promotional presentations, and other events to recruit Mentors.
  • Support applicants throughout certification process, providing guidance and managing timelines.
  • Review applications, medical examinations, and references. Conduct evaluations and assessments.
  • Create and design new campaigns as needed to continuously attract new Mentors; measure success of campaign effectiveness.
  • Implement and fully leverage recruiting and retention tracking tools and strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma - minimum requirement. Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will consider some college and prior related work experience.
  • Experience: At least one year in a professional role related to successful sales, marketing or recruitment required.
  • Availability: Position primarily works Mon-Fri during the daytime, however some flexibility to work in the evenings or on weekends to attend events or meet with potential Mentors is necessary.
  • Valid CA driver license; also must have at least one year of driver license history (in any US state).
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with proof of valid registration and CA insurance.
  • Must pass background investigation that includes FBI/DOJ fingerprint check, DMV driver history, references, and general physical/TB test.

What we are looking for in our next Mentor Recruiter:

  • Some knowledge of Human Services field, Medical field, Human Development, or intellectual and developmental disabilities is HIGHLY PREFERRED; we will consider candidates who have a passion for serving this population and are willing to learn.
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport with professionalism, and strong follow through to expedite certification process.
