Enterprise Architect to provide program and data analysis support for our National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) client, located in Silver Spring, MD. Candidates must be very experienced with IT Governance and architecture transformation efforts which enable the NWS mission and ensure that information is reliable, available, secure, and nimble. Essential Functions Supporting
Supporting the government in the development of an enterprise-level architectural framework and establishing models to implement the delivery of enterprise-level information technology services and products utilizing a Shared Service approach Leading the development of NWS enterprise architecture governance in order to establish standards for processes, data, systems, security, and information technologies by defining and measuring IT business value Engaging with industry and client stakeholders to assist in identifying and recommending solutions to eliminate gaps, duplications, or incompatibilities among program and technologies Conducting gap analysis and developing a strategic roadmap to support cloud operations and achieve the future-state, including both short-term and long-term plans Aiding the Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO) with drafting, updating, and maintaining multi-year strategic plans Assessing current organizational strategies and coordinating with executive leadership to ensure NWS mission and strategic goals alignment to higher-level strategies Leading the assessment of the current-state and future-state reference architecture that supports NWS IT strategies and priorities while determining which efforts are out of scope with IT Architecture Principles Managing the development of performance measures related to IT strategy Leading the project management of all enterprise architecture support Creating blueprints, recommendations, and actionable roadmaps for the future of the NWS IT architecture Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support Required Education & Training
Master’s degree OR a Bachelor’s Degree plus two years of enterprise architecture experience Minimum Experience & Skills
Twenty years or more of professional experience Five or more years of enterprise architecture and implementation experience within the federal government Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail Desired But Not Required Qualifications
Familiarity with Smartsheets Familiarity with the Google Suite of products Five or more years of Program/Project management experience The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Cloud Service Provider (CSP), and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications Seniority level
