Infinity Corrosion Group, Inc. is seeking a Corrosion Engineer with 5 years’ experience in corrosion, cathodic protection, AC mitigation, stray current analysis and mitigation, coatings, and condition assessments for the water, oil/gas, and transportation industries. Infinity Corrosion Group, Inc. is based in the Salt Lake City area and provides engineering and technical services throughout the western United States. Base Pay Range
$90,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Apply engineering principles and corrosion theory to execute projects Review data, define objectives and expectations, and recommend appropriate engineering methods and procedures for corrosion mitigation projects Perform/manage field testing and develop cathodic protection system designs Plan and perform field tests (structure potential, soil resistivity, current requirement, continuity, dynamic stray current, pipeline current mapping, etc.) Organize, analyze, and present field data Prepare graphs, tables, and photographs for client reports Prepare cathodic protection designs, technical specifications, and drawings Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve cathodic protection system deficiencies Conduct interference testing and coordinate mitigation efforts Report project findings, recommendations, cost estimates, and final client reports Monitor construction activities for adherence to design specifications Provide technical supervision and technical support to other personnel within the company Plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects concurrently Coordinate and communicate directly with clients Actively participate in educational opportunities, regularly read professional publications, and maintain professional networks through participation in professional organizations Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Civil, Corrosion, Electrical, or Materials Engineering or related engineering field 5 years minimum Cathodic Protection survey and design experience Fluency with Microsoft Office programs Project management and problem solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong team leadership and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications
Corrosion Engineering Experience: Cathodic Protection System Design, AC / DC Stray Current / Interference Analysis and Mitigation, Construction Inspection, and Project Planning and Management Utility construction/design experience MSHA 24 Hour Training for Surface Mining certification Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration Operator Qualifications (OQ) for Corrosion Tasks AutoCAD Working Conditions
Occasional overnight travel may be required, with trips typically lasting 1-5 days Visits to industrial/construction settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment Employee may be required to walk or stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift 50 pounds Anticipate 60% field and 40% office work Compensation and Benefits
