I have direct hire Fire Alarm Technician positions in Bethesda, Maryland and only servicing Montgomery County. FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN-JOB DESCRIPTION This position requires the ability to service, inspect and repair Fire Alarm systems for established commercial customers on a scheduled basis and must be available for on call rotation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field service, electrical and mechanical knowledge, and experience with alarm system sales. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair alarm systems in commercial buildings. Conduct routine inspections and testing of alarm systems to ensure proper functionality. Respond to service requests, diagnose system malfunctions of fire alarms and adjust, repair or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance. Fire Alarm System testing and inspection per NFPA and local code standards. Preparing accurate and timely inspection and service reports. Collaborate with customers to determine their fire alarm needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Provide guidance on the operation of alarm systems to customers. Experience Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. Strong mechanical knowledge for system installations. At least 3 years of hands-on experience. Experience with special hazard suppression system inspection and repair (FM200 and Halon) is a plus. Proficiency in testing and servicing fire alarm brands: Simplex, Notifier, and Fire-Lite. Comfortable working on ladders (6 to 12 ft) and lifts. Ability to lift to 70 lbs and work in overhead, confined, or unusual spaces like attics and crawl spaces. Highly organized with the ability to manage service tickets and process required documents for each service. Strong communication skills for explaining work and necessary repairs to customers. Excellent writing skills with attention to detail in service documentation.
