SLP - City of Hope Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Hybrid Inpatient/Outpatient Role Schedule: 5x8s, Days, 0800-1630 Client: City of Hope Weekend Requirements: None Location: Oncology-based (Head/Neck Oncology) Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist for a hybrid inpatient/outpatient role. This role is primarily focused on oncology-based cases, particularly head/neck oncology (tracheostomy care and laryngectomy care). The unit has a moderate pace, which may fluctuate. The role involves performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies and conducting assessments and treatments for cognitive, language, speech, voice, and swallowing disorders. Primary Responsibilities: Tracheostomy care Laryngectomy care Modified barium swallow study (MBS) Cognitive, language, speech, and voice assessment and treatment Bedside swallow evaluation Patient and family education Point of service documentation Reassessments and discharge evaluations Required Experience: 2 years of experience as an SLP in a clinical setting (5 years preferred) First-time travelers are welcome 80-hour orientation with 72 hours on the floor Experience with: Dysarthria Dysphagia Tracheostomy Voice disorders Modified barium swallow studies (MBS) Bedside swallow evaluations Interpreting MBS Patient/family education Required Certifications: BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode) State SLP License (in hand preferred, but pending is acceptable) Skills/Experience Required: Dysarthria Dysphagia Tracheostomy Voice Modified Barium Swallow Studies Signs & Symptoms of Physical, Sexual, and Psychological Abuse Patient/Family Education Point of Service Documentation Assessment, Reassessments, Discharge, and Evaluation Young, Middle, and Older Adult Cases Skills/Experience Preferred: Acute Care Experience Adult Outpatient Experience CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) Laryngectomy Augmentative Communication Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) International Dysphagia Diet Laryngectomy and Voice Prothesis Myofascial Release/Manual Therapy Passy Muir Valves Trach/Vent experience BAE (Boston Aphasia Evaluation) WAB (Western Aphasia Battery) Medicare/Medicaid SLP Evaluation Coding Additional Requirements: COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious Exemptions Only) Wine-colored scrubs (not provided) EPIC Documentation We are a group of talented individuals with domain knowledge and industry experience helping organizations find the right talent for their Health Care positions
