POSITION INFORMATION

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

SCHEDULE & HOURS

Hours per pay period:

84 hours

Duration:

3 months (possible extension)

Shifts Available:

1 Day Shift RN

(12-hour shifts)

1 Night Shift RN

(12-hour shifts)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Observe and assess patients' health status through physical assessment, patient interviews, and medical history review.

Recognize normal vs. abnormal conditions and determine necessary nursing interventions.

Administer prescribed therapeutic measures, including medication, treatments, IV fluids, blood transfusions, and insertion of nasogastric tubes and foley catheters.

Consult with a multidisciplinary team for patient management.

Initiate treatment, medications, emergency, and resuscitative measures following ACLS guidelines and standing protocols.

Develop individualized care plans for patients.

Provide nursing care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and socio cultural patient needs.

Manage and monitor telemetry patients.

Function as a primary nurse across all hospital units.

Participate in performance standards, measures, and improvement projects for patient outcomes.

Implement procedural changes for quality assurance.

Educate and counsel patients regarding their treatment, diagnosis, and care compliance.

Maintain professional knowledge, skills, licenses, and certifications.

Interpret clinical conditions and collaborate with the care team on findings.

Administer blood components as ordered.

Participate in multidisciplinary care teams and provide discharge planning feedback.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Competency in telemetry patient management.

Proficiency in emergency response and resuscitative measures per ACLS guidelines.

Ability to assess patient conditions and implement appropriate interventions.

Experience working with a multidisciplinary care team.

Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices, including trauma, surgery, psychiatry, and sub specialties.
