Location: Addison, TX (Hybrid/Onsite)


We are seeking an experienced and skilled Controls Engineer to join a team in Addison, TX. This role offers a great opportunity for professionals with a background in PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS/Delta V platforms to take on leadership responsibilities while working on innovative automation solutions across a variety of industries.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of control systems for industrial processes, including the development of control system architecture, component selection, schematic diagrams, and system documentation.
  • Program PLC, DCS/Delta V controllers, and develop HMI/SCADA process visualizations.
  • Design and implement databases for archiving/displaying historical system data.
  • Use programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, VBA, .NET, SQL, and Python for HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Work with industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus) to connect system components and instrumentation.
  • Develop and manage project execution plans, budgets, and schedules for projects up to $10M.
  • Lead project teams, mentor lower-level engineers, and provide support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee daily project operations, ensuring profitability and adherence to timelines.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience, including expertise with Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon PLCs, and HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk, Aveva, Ignition, iFIX).
  • Preferred: Project Management experience (PMP certification), experience in Batch/Recipes, OEE, MES, and ERP systems.
  • Experience in industries such as Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, Water Treatment, and general manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and control panels (under 480VAC) and AutoCAD.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience leading a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Professional references from a subordinate, peer, and manager are preferred.


Travel: Up to 25%, mostly local to Dallas, TX.
