Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Chief Engineer located in Paso Robles, CA at The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. The Chief Engineer will oversee the maintenance and operation of the hotel's physical plant, including mechanical, commercial laundry, kitchen equipment, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. The role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the property meets safety and compliance standards, and implementing energy-saving initiatives. In addition, this role plays a vital role in preventive maintenance across the entire building utilizing software systems for accountability, scheduling, and record keeping.
Qualifications
- Experience in managing and leading a team of maintenance technicians
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
- Knowledge of software systems related to asset management
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Certification in HVAC, electrical systems, or related field is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- Brand experience preferred
