Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to oversee all daily operations of our metal fabrication facility. This role requires strong leadership, deep industry knowledge, and a hands-on approach to managing production, safety, quality, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and team performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the metal fabrication plant, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics.
  • Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor KPIs to assess performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize output.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, OSHA standards, and internal quality protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and sales departments to align production with customer requirements.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, process improvements, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Recruit, train, and manage plant staff; promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous development.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Develop and manage the plant budget, including labor, materials, and maintenance costs.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive working environment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a plant leadership role.
  • Prior experience in metal fabrication is required (e.g., welding, cutting, bending, CNC operations).
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven leadership, decision-making, and people management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Skills:

  • Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Project management experience.


Work Environment:

  • This role requires a presence on the shop floor; standing, walking, and lifting may be required.
  • Standard workweek with flexibility to address production issues off-hours or on weekends if needed.
