About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team at (Company Name), a leading cement manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a background in chemical or industrial engineering with a strong focus on process optimization, performance enhancement, and cost reduction. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will ensure the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of all plant operations, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and troubleshoot complex process issues.
Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives for optimizing cement production processes, improving plant efficiency, and reducing energy consumption.
- Identify and implement best practices in process control, quality assurance, and safety.
- Evaluate process data to suggest changes and improvements in production lines to enhance operational performance.
- Oversee and manage process improvement projects from concept through to completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, and quality control) to execute process enhancements, ensure minimal disruptions, and meet project timelines.
- Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring adherence to scope, cost, and timelines.
- Monitor and analyze key process parameters to maintain smooth operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any complex process issues affecting production or quality.
- Perform root cause analysis and propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify performance gaps and provide actionable insights for optimization.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on plant performance, improvement opportunities, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to the cement manufacturing process.
- Support the implementation of safety protocols and continuous training to maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and plant operators.
- Lead or participate in cross-departmental teams to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce carbon emissions and increase the sustainability of production processes.
- Support the development of environmentally-friendly technologies and the use of alternative raw materials and energy sources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in process engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role within a cement or manufacturing plant.
- In-depth knowledge of cement production processes, including kiln operation, grinding, and raw material processing.
- Strong understanding of process control systems and advanced process simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform complex data analysis.
- Proven ability to lead and manage engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and process improvement strategies is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and environmental regulations related to cement production.
- Experience with process modeling software and data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Aspen Plus, or similar).
- Strong working knowledge of ERP and CMMS software.
