Hospital Based Nephrologist

This role is integral to the hospital’s specialty care services and will work closely with interdisciplinary teams, dialysis units, and intensive care units (ICU). A commitment to medical excellence is essential. As a new facility, we are building a team of top-tier providers dedicated to clinical innovation and community health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient nephrology consultation services, including diagnosis and management of kidney-related conditions.
- Manage acute kidney injury (AKI), ESRD, electrolyte imbalances, glomerular diseases, and fluid management.
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Oversee inpatient dialysis services (hemodialysis, CRRT, and peritoneal dialysis if applicable).
- Educate patients, families, and staff about kidney disease management and treatment options.
- Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical pathway development for nephrology.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Provide coverage as part of the nephrology team’s call schedule.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Nephrology Fellowship.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Nephrology.
- Eligible for medical licensure in [State].
- Prior hospital-based nephrology experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

- Proficiency in managing inpatient dialysis, CRRT, and complex nephrology cases.
- Experience working in a new hospital or program-building environment.
