Addiction Psychiatrist

A New York City-based health services network is actively seeking a new Addiction Psychiatrist for a promising opportunity with their growing team. In this role, the Addiction Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management for patients in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients seeking mental health and substance use treatment
2. Provide ongoing medication management for patients, ensuring proper monitoring, adjustments, and education regarding prescribed medications
3. Collaborate closely with the treatment team, including therapists, counselors, and medical staff, to create and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients
4. Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with facility policies and relevant regulatory standards
5. Monitor patient progress, track symptoms, and adjust treatment as necessary to ensure the highest quality of care
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric best practices, pharmacological treatments, and guidelines specific to substance use and co-occurring disorders
7. Provide support and guidance to staff members and participate in case consultations as needed
8. Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal regulations

Qualifications:

1. M.D. or D.O. with Board Certification in Psychiatry
2. Valid state medical license
3. DEA certification
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:

1. Experience working within an Outpatient Psychiatric settings
2. Experience working with Substance Abuse and/or Co-Occurring Mental Health conditions
