A New York City-based health services network is actively seeking a new Addiction Psychiatrist for a promising opportunity with their growing team. In this role, the Addiction Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management for patients in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients seeking mental health and substance use treatment
- Provide ongoing medication management for patients, ensuring proper monitoring, adjustments, and education regarding prescribed medications
- Collaborate closely with the treatment team, including therapists, counselors, and medical staff, to create and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients
- Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with facility policies and relevant regulatory standards
- Monitor patient progress, track symptoms, and adjust treatment as necessary to ensure the highest quality of care
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric best practices, pharmacological treatments, and guidelines specific to substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Provide support and guidance to staff members and participate in case consultations as needed
- Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- M.D. or D.O. with Board Certification in Psychiatry
- Valid state medical license
- DEA certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience working within an Outpatient Psychiatric settings
- Experience working with Substance Abuse and/or Co-Occurring Mental Health conditions
