Represent tenants in a variety of litigation matters, including habitability claims and housing rights disputes Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs Handle all aspects of case management from intake to trial Appear in court for hearings, motion practice, and trials Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses Provide legal guidance and develop strategies tailored to each client's situation Collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal staff to ensure comprehensive client service Monitor changes in relevant state and federal tenant protection laws Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in housing law, public interest law, or civil rights litigation Strong trial advocacy skills and familiarity with court procedures Ability to manage multiple active cases and meet deadlines Demonstrated commitment to serving marginalized or underserved communities Proficiency in legal writing, analysis, and oral argument Capability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team Availability to attend in-person court appearances in Los Angeles County when required Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Certifications:
Active and in good standing with the California State Bar Skills:
Litigation and courtroom strategy Legal research and drafting Oral and written advocacy Time management and organization Bilingual or multilingual skills (Spanish or other languages commonly spoken by tenants are preferred) Adaptability to hybrid work settings with remote collaboration tools Job Location:
