Alabaster Jar Project (AJP) is one of the leading anti-trafficking organizations in San Diego County, dedicated to providing hope, healing, and a path forward for survivors of human trafficking. For over 12 years, we have developed highly effective, trauma-informed programs that empower survivors to reclaim their lives and transition to healthy, independent futures. With a strong reputation in the survivor community, we are now seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to build on our success and expand our impact. Position Overview The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic vision, fundraising, and operational management of Alabaster Jar Project. Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and community partners, the ED will drive fundraising efforts, program development, and advocacy initiatives to further our mission. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development Provide visionary leadership to advance the mission, goals, and long-term sustainability of the organization. Plans, implements, and evaluates annual goals and objectives. Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans and policies. Foster a culture of inclusivity, empowerment, and collaboration among staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders. Lead fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant writing, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events. Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the organization’s fiscal health and sustainability. Responsible for achieving budget and strategic goals. Ability to research grant opportunities and write grant proposals. A proven track record of developing strong individual donor relationships which result in major gifts; including out of the office meetings with donors/partners. Provide regular updates/reports to the Board of Directors. Expand revenue streams to support and grow the organization’s programs and services. Operational & Team Management Supervise and support a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment. Oversee compliance with nonprofit regulations, policies, and best practices. Ensure the organization operates with transparency, accountability, and ethical integrity. Program Development & Community Engagement Oversee the implementation and expansion of programs that provide direct services and resources to survivors of human trafficking. Strengthen partnerships with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, and the business community. Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for Alabaster Jar Project, raising awareness about human trafficking and survivor needs. Qualifications & Experience Required: Passion for and commitment to the mission of Alabaster Jar Project. 5+ years of leadership experience in a director or executive director role in the nonprofit sector or a related field. Proven track record in fundraising and financial management; familiarity with grant writing. Strong skills in strategic planning, program development, and team leadership. Excellent communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills. Ability to develop a program budget and strategic goals. Belief in the dignity of all human lives regardless of color, faith, gender, or sexuality. Preferred: Experience working with survivors of trauma, human trafficking, or vulnerable populations. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and survivor-centered programming. Established network within the nonprofit, social services, or philanthropic communities. Seniority level:
