Specialists at Seemann Composites report to the engineering function and have the latitude to work in resource focused groups and product teams. This is a salaried position with a technical growth path. Our Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), typically include Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Logistics, and Production.

Seemann Composites has an opening for an internal promotion to the Specialist IV role at our facility in Gulfport, MS. The work will include interfacing with engineers, production technicians, and other IPT members toward accomplishing project objectives.

Typical duties of a Specialist IV include leading small teams, product development, tooling development, and manufacturing support. The primary CAD tool is SolidWorks for both modeling and drawing development; experience with this software tool is certainly a plus.

Job Requirements: • Must have minimum of 13 years of experience with composite materials, fabrication of composite structures, and/or polymer injection molding/mixing • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) • United States Citizenship or Green Card Status is required • Handle several program duties simultaneously across disciplines • Generate CAD models, and Cut Files as directed • Author manufacturing work instructions, inspection procedures, white papers, monthly reports, etc. with minimal oversight from supervisor • Provide input as needed on proposals, schedules, budgets and other programmatic deliverables • Manage and track documentation including incorporation of redlines • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing • May be a Subject Matter Expert in a few areas of the production process • Responsible for day-to-day tasking of self • Active US DoD Security Clearance Required

Desired Skills and Experience: • Good Oral and written communication skills • SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D drawings • Technical writing • Tooling design • Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 quality management systems • Creation of work instructions or technical writing • Hands on fabrication experience • Design Parts and Fixtures with input from supervisor

Essential Physical Requirement:

Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, stretching, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.

You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required but it is not usual.
