We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee our transportation and distribution processes.
Job Summary:
As the Logistics Manager , you will be responsible for managing day-to-day logistics operations, including inbound and outbound freight, rate negotiations, and carrier relationships. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely deliveries, cost efficiency, and service excellence. You will lead efforts around pricing, quoting, and transportation strategy while collaborating closely with internal departments and external logistics partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and streamline all day-to-day logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, freight scheduling, and load planning to ensure efficiency and accuracy across all movements
- Own the pricing and quoting process for all freight activity, providing timely and precise rate estimates that support internal budgeting and competitive customer pricing
- Negotiate and manage freight contracts with carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure cost-effective, reliable transportation partnerships
- Continuously monitor freight spend, delivery timelines, and carrier performance, using data to proactively identify trends, control costs, and drive service improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Production, and Customer Service teams to align shipping priorities, resolve conflicts, and support on-time, in-full (OTIF) order fulfillment
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, delivery delays, claims, and damages with urgency and professionalism to minimize business disruption
- Ensure strict compliance with DOT, OSHA, food safety, and all applicable transportation regulations and internal operating standards
- Develop and report on logistics KPIs, using metrics to identify process gaps, optimize route planning, and improve service levels
- Manage and verify all shipping-related documentation, including bills of lading, freight invoices, delivery receipts, and carrier agreements
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records of all logistics activities, supporting both internal reviews and regulatory inspections
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management (food or manufacturing industry experience a plus).
- Strong knowledge of freight pricing, quoting, and negotiation strategies.
- Experience managing carrier and 3PL relationships.
- Proficiency with logistics systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of cold chain logistics and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
