PURCHASING COORDINATOR – TEMPORARY

Procurement lies at the heart of SpaceX where our world-class rockets and spacecraft are built at an unprecedented rate. The Purchasing Coordinator helps support the tactical functions of the flight hardware procurement team to ensure we meet our customer manifest.

This includes coordinating the flow of work between departments, placing accurate purchase orders with suppliers, reporting on timely parts delivery, and driving continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Issue purchase orders quickly and without error

Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers

Obtain the original promise date from suppliers

Review open order report and manage deliveries

Resolve invoice issues and ensuring that vendors are paid on time

Support buyers in cost savings initiatives

Lead miscellaneous procurement projects

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a TEMPORARY position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

LENGTH OF POSITION: contract end date is slated for end of Q3 2018 (end of Sept 2018)

LOCATION: Hawthorne, CA

SHIFT: Day

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Purchasing experience, specifically related to machining commodity

Remarkable problem solving skills with a bias for speed

Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs

Excellent customer service skills

Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills

Exceptional analytical and organizational skills

Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite

Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity

Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
