full-time Independent Contractor Primary Care Physician
to join our team at
Metropolitan State Hospital
located in
Norwalk, California .Responsibilities:The
Primary Care Physician
provides medical assessments and evaluations, provides treatment for emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues, provides and supervises medical treatment for chronic medical conditions, and participates in organizational initiatives to help prevent diseases and injuries of patients in a correctional setting. The Primary Care Physician works under the direction of the Site Medical Director and/or the Statewide Medical Director, and collaborates with the Health Services Administrator to ensure that efficient and clinically appropriate medical services are provided.Qualifications:Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal MedicineActive unrestricted California Medical License for MD or DOActive unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificateCurrent ACLS and CPR certificationMust be able to pass background check and obtain security clearanceAvailable Shift:Weekday days, 4 ten-hour shifts per week.Benefits:Unique benefits of working with MHM Services in State Hospital Healthcare include:Excellent compensation, with malpractice insurance and workers' comp insuranceWork/Life Balance schedule with no call, weekends or holidaysCollaborative treatment teams with highly qualified cliniciansClinically stimulating & forensically rich caseloads with diverse male patient populationInnovative healthcare environment with fewer administrative hasslesNo RVU or production-based compensation
