Great Lakes Bay Health Centers (GLBHC) is a community health center umbrella made up of 30+ locations throughout the Great Lakes Bay region and beyond. JOB SUMMARY
The Primary Care Staff Physician is directly responsible for performing and recording patient health history, patient examination and diagnosis, recommendation of medical treatment, rendering of on-site treatment and hospitalization services as necessary. The physician is also responsible for appropriate documentation in the patient chart. Participates in a team-based approach to care in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Participates in activities related to Quality Improvement.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Manages patient medical care including diagnosis, treatment, and follow up.Maintains appropriate documentation on patient clinical records.Participates in GLBHC Quality Assurance activities as assigned.Assists in the establishment of appropriate fee schedule, expense budgets, and program plans.Directs medical support staff.
MARGINAL JOB DUTIES
Assists in marketing and public relations, including recruitment of providers as needed.Performs other functions relating to GLBHC medical program as may be required.Performs other duties as assigned by President/CEO and Chief Medical Officer.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited Medical School and be able to produce evidence of such.Licensure: Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Michigan. Possesses valid DEA license. Board Eligible. Board Certified preferred.Experience: 1-2 years in underserved area preferred.Skills: Diagnostic, therapeutic, interpersonal, organizational.Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.Physical Effort: Medium.Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday. Flexible and varied.Travel: Some travel between sites required. Travel may be required in order to attend pertinent conferences; with travel, lodging, and living costs reimbursed at the existing rate of the corporation. Reimbursement for expenses will occur in accordance with GLBHC policy.
