ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.
JOB SUMMARY : The incumbent is responsible for performing all functions of the position. Under the general supervision of the Dental Coordinator, the staff dentist is responsible for administering, maintaining, and expanding a program of primary care and preventable dental care in a health center setting. This position is assigned overall responsibility for developing, managing, and maintaining public health dentistry, program-wide.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provides dental consultation to other tribal/state agencies, educational institutions, state health department programs, county health departments, and professional organizations, and establishes and maintains official working relationships. Examine, diagnose and treat oral diseases. Perform oral treatments including root canals, extractions, and fixing and removable prosthetics. Work with clinical staff to provide quality patient treatments. Educate patients on preventive dental care and oral health care. Design and fix prosthodontic appliances including bridges, partial dentures, complete dentures, and space maintainers. Treat teeth malformations, gum injuries, and other oral abnormalities. Use dental instruments safely to avoid accidents. Operate x-rays and diagnostic equipment effectively to examine teeth and gums. Ensure that the work area is maintained safe, clean, and organized. Follow standard dentistry procedures and comply with company policies. Evaluate patient's dental health and prescribe medications. Refer patients to appropriate specialists when needed. Recording of patient's progress, procedures, and other dental/health matters. ADDITIONAL DUTIES :
Perform other duties and projects as required by management. Stay abreast with the latest developments and techniques in the dental field. Work with office staff in managing patient appointments and scheduling to achieve productivity goals. Timely completion of continuing education required by state licensing requirements SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of dentistry and dental epidemiology. The ability to communicate well with the public, staff, and other providers. The ability to analyze complex problems and adopt an appropriate course of action. Excellent written skills, the ability to keep detailed records. Strong computer skills; experience with healthcare databases/applications QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from an accredited college of dentistry. CPR certification is required. Two (2) years of experience preferred. State of Oklahoma Dental license preferred. Current DEA and OBNDD License Read, write, and speak English PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. Ability to bend, stretch and kneel. May require some moderate to heavy lifting. Repetitive computer work. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
A general clinical environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids.
