Job Description
Our client, a leading produce company, is currently recruiting a Director of Food Safety & Quality who will infuse the Food Safety & Quality Team with their talent, energy and leadership skills. 1) Administer the company's Food Safety Management System
2) Uphold the highest standards of food safety and sanitation within wholesale bakery facilities
3) Investigate product and process failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions promptly, minimizing production downtime and product exposure
4) Maintain a library of all documents and forms required within the Food Safety Management System
5) Ensure that company policies and procedures comply with all regulatory and SQF requirements
6) Serve as the SQF practitioner and HACCP director for the company
7) Collaborate with management to promote a positive food safety culture among all employees
8) Manage the QA Supervisors and Quality Assurance Laboratory Technicians
9) Provide training, direction and daily work instruction
10) Implement and manage the facility's sanitation program, including performance tracking and training
11) Open corrective actions in response to FSMS non-conformances
12) Manage food safety and quality programs, such as customer complaints, non-conforming products, environmental monitoring, and food defense programs
13) Verify food safety documentation and make corrections, when needed
14) Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accurate
15) Act as a primary liaison with regulatory, third-party, and customer auditors to ensure compliance and implementation of corrective actions
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the produce industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in food safety and quality management
