HDR is looking for a project manager whose experience focuses on client development and delivery of datacenter projects. The ideal candidate should have a proven background in successfully delivering various datacenter and mission critical projects ranging from upfront planning and pre-design activities through detail design, construction support and commissioning. This position is an opportunity to join one of the largest, fastest growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry. In additional to managing and delivery projects (which is the primary focus of this role), the successful candidate must possess the drive, experience and charisma needed to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand upon HDR's reputation within these markets. This individual will manage multi-disciplinary design teams from project conception to completion. Keen focus on organizational skills and follow-through are required to be successful in this role. This person will work closely with the Nebraska/Iowa Building Engineering Services Business Group Manager as well as our global TMT client management team. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, to achieve the established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company.
Manage and lead project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction10-20% Travel to project sites, including international if needed.Flexible work schedule to accommodate international project supportControl project budget, scope, and scheduleEnsure product deliverables meet quality standardsForecasting, Invoicing and contract managementPromote HDR through regular client interfaceMission Critical staff recruiting working closely with the Business Group ManagerCreate vital proposal content including scope, schedule and budgetLead HDR at interview presentationsWork cooperatively with local office leads, other business group leads, technical directors and marketing managers.Other technical / managerial tasks as assignedQualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years leadership experience in the areas of site programming, project planning, design, construction and/or commissioningWorking knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 Docs, BIM360 Field, and BluebeamCommand of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project)Good working knowledge of Google communication products (gDrive, Chat, Docs, sheets, and slidesDemonstrated experience in working with multi-disciplined teams of Architects, Engineers, and Designers.An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Active in area industry associations.Preferred Qualifications:
Preference given to local candidates.Preference to candidates with PE or Architecture licensureRelationships and Experience with Mission Critical and/or Datacenters Facilities clients and their needs.Advanced leadership and mentoring abilityAdvanced client relationship building skillsStrong public speaking / presentation skills
