Principal Java DeveloperWork Location: Remote
JOB SUMMARY:Principal JAVA Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of the most complex and business critical Information Technology solutions.
Provides leadership and consultative guidance on projects with extensive size, scope and risk. Serves the company as an advisor on best practices and as an information technology strategy driver by implementing principles, models, designs, standards and guidelines. Principal IT Developers are responsible for documenting detailed system specifications, participation in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications, evaluation and performance testing of purchased products. Principal IT Developers are responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application. Principal IT Developers lead efforts, oversee work results, providing formal training and serve as a technical resource for other Developers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with unit testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol as well as change management proceduresProficiency using versioning tools: GIT, GNU, RCS, SCCS, CVS, SVN, Mercurial, Monotone, etcDemonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skillsFlexible team playerAbility to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilitiesAbility to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performanceMust demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skillsAbility to communicate technical information clearly and articulatelyAbility to adapt to a rapidly changing environmentIn-depth understanding of the systems development life cycleProficiency programming in more than one object-oriented programming language; JAVA, JavaScript, Python, C#, C++, and PHP
Experience with HTML and Frameworks such as; React.Js, Node.JS, and EXPRESSExperience with SOAP, REST web service developmentMay include learning languages such as; Hadoop, Storm, Spark, Kafka, Hive, NFI, Scoop, etcMay include database knowledge in; SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc
Proficiency using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as VisioProficiency using debugging tools; Advanced Debugger, Allinea DDT, AQtime,, ARM, CA/EZTEST, etcHigh critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategyManipulate data from various sources / formats such as: flat files, relational databases, non-relational databases, XML, JSON, etc.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
8+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education as a Java Developer
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in IT related field or relevant work experienceRelevant Development certifications
