Position

SAS has an opening for a Technical Engineering (Project) Coordinator/Manager

Job ResponsibilitiesWork as a liaison between the Pattern Engineer and Manufacturing.Works closely with the Pattern Engineer assigned and together determine best manufacturing processes for every operation.Decide best synthetic materials; backers, box toes, counters, reinforcements, etc. for each new product.Assist in the Manufacturing Process by aiding a Supervisor, Manager or operator with any issue that may arise in the shoemaking process.Works closely with TE Project Manager to determine which new materials require wear testing and/or physical testing.Must be willing to work outside your typical work duties and do whatever it takes to resolve any issues related to shoe making.Job Qualifications:

Strong understanding of all shoe-manufacturing operations for all constructions from Cut to Pack. (Willing to provide training for candidates that meet other qualifications)Must possess strong problem solving skills.Must have a strong understanding and/or operate all shoe making machinery.A self-starter who enjoys taking on new challenges to expand his/her role.Mature, responsible and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.Willing to get involved in anything and everything with an “It Can Be Done” attitude.Able to multi-task handling several projects, while working independently or with a team.Ability to work in a fast-paced, open workspace environment.Highly motivated and able to follow instructions.Must be detail oriented and able to work with numbers.Must have absolute ability to exercise confidentiality.Excellent job performance and attendance.Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plusPhysical Requirements:

The ability to walk up a staircase to the D&D Department.Comfortably lift up to a maximum weight of 25 lbs.Be able sit, stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per day.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree with a focus on Manufacturing/Industrial and/or Process Engineering or a significant amount of equivalent work experience.Experience/education in manufacturing/industrial and/or process engineering for a manufacturing or industrial facility or company. Computer literate in Auto/CAD, Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook. Experience in shoemaking/manufacturing or general manufacturing & production facilities.
