JOB SUMMARY The Human Resources Assistant helps with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, executive administration, and employment.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES All Levels Recruiting and staffing logistics; Performance management and improvement tracking systems; Employee orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping; Assisting with employee relations; Answering questions and assisting employees; Benefits administration and recordkeeping; Employee welfare, wellness, and health reporting; and employee services; Maintaining employee records and the HRIS data entry; Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office. Compile and update employee records (hard and electronic copies)

HR Assistant II Scheduling meetings or appointments as required Assisting HR leadership with various research projects and/or special projects as required Assuring completeness of files and paperwork Providing assistance to the generalist teams as required Performs other duties as assigned or required

HR Assistant III Providing assistance to staff organization-wide requesting information on HR policies and procedures Assisting and/or filling in for generalists for HR presentations Posting open positions and reporting vacancies Reporting on open personnel actions and/or requests Cross-training other HR staff on day-to-day onboarding functions as required

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS All Levels Knowledge of customer services concepts and practices. Knowledge of multi-line telephone systems operation. Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations. Knowledge of basic purchasing processes. Knowledge of filing procedures. Skill in operating office equipment. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in maintaining and updating office and administrator schedules. Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others. Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.

HR Assistant II Knowledge of human resources procedures Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently to meet deadlines

HR Assistant III Knowledge of effective presentation and public speaking skills

Required Experience

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION HR Assistant I High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

HR Assistant II One year of post-secondary (vocational-technical or college education in office administration. Equivalent related training, education, or experience may be substitute for education.

HR Assistant III An associate’s degree in Business or related field. Progressively responsible professional/exempt work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION HR Assistant I Non-supervisory – Two (2) years of general office experience. Equivalent education, training, or similar experience may be substituted for relevant experience.

HR Assistant II Non-supervisory – Two (2) years of human resource experience or three (3) years of skilled office experience. Equivalent education, training, or similar experience may be substituted for relevant experience.

HR Assistant III Non-supervisory – Two (2) years human resources experience. Equivalent education, training, or similar experience may be substituted for relevant experience.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The following demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds and sit for long periods of time. ANMC is not a latex free environment. Therefore, some latex exposure can be expected.
