Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, managing financial reporting, and providing support for audits and tax preparation. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles, experience in a public company, and strong analytical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting principles.

Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide detailed analysis of variances.

Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Support external audit engagements by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions and supporting schedules.

Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, assisting with training and development as needed.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and process improvements.

Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

CPA designation preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a public company manufacturing sector.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and strong organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications. SAP and HFM highly desired
