This is an administrative role with an opportunity to develop your HR leadership skills. You must be excited about interacting with the supervisory team and helping to answer employee questions.

Position SummaryDay to day operations pertaining to all human resources administration including recruiting, new hire orientation and onboarding, payroll, insurance benefits administration, workers’ compensation administration and leaves of absence. Respond to employee questions and support supervisors’ procedural human resources questions. Maintain, update and control all employee files. The Human Resources Coordinator works closely with Human Resources Consultant to handle matters of significance and to remain in compliance.

This candidate selected for this position must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Compensation & BenefitsThe compensation for this position is $28 - $32. This position is eligible for the following benefits:

Essential Position Responsibilities:

Audit time and attendance, review time off requests and process payroll using Paycom.

Recruiting and staffing logistics including resume review, posting jobs, contacting candidates, scheduling interviews and participating in initial interviews.

Conduct new employee onboarding including conducting new hire orientation.

Oversee safety processes and compliance training.

Review, verify and process all new hire paperwork.

Implement and manage policies and procedures.

Maintain employee files and keep records up to date.

Enroll new employees in health insurance benefits, make changes, review and approve all incoming bills for processing.

Process Workers’ Compensation claims and maintain the process from open to close.

Assist with leave of absence letters, monitor leave return status, process payments while on leave for insurance coverage, and engage in the interactive process with employees on leave.

Maintain and update required training records for employees.

Additional responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications:

2 years of related experience in a similar role in an organization of at least 50 employees.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience required.

Bilingual English and Spanish required.

Good working knowledge of California employment laws and the ability to interpret them.

Good communication and small-group presentation skills.

Experience reviewing and preparing payroll of 50+ nonexempt employees.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Strong interpersonal skills, integrity and the ability to keep information confidential.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and is easily able to learn new software.

Ability to write reports and general business correspondence.

A certificate in human resources from an accredited institution preferred.

Experience with Paycom is highly preferred.
