Description
The C-130J Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides ATC and/or the client with a high level of knowledge and expertise of all C-130J related training for the aircraft used by the Department of Defense that is critical to the success of a current or projected ATC contractual program. The C-130J SME is responsible for reviewing and writing content.
Expert knowledge of all aviation maintenance training policies, procedures, and practices of the assigned weapon system in all training and operational conditions.Must have expert knowledge of all tasks in maintenance manuals and technical publications of their assigned area of expertise. • Must have technical knowledge and experience in legacy airframe techniques and workmanship including metals fabrication, fiberglass repair, Hydraulic systems, and subsystem operations.Must have technical knowledge and experience in current airframe composites, fabrication, damage repair, advanced carbon fibers, bonding, resins, and tooling.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.Must be able to compose professional correspondence IAW company-provided manuals.Perform quality assurance and provide technical expertise to instructional system developers (ISD) professionals in their areas of expertise. Research areas not familiar to the SME or the ISD Team.Develop or assist ISD professionals in creating instructional materials, and teaching aids such as instructor guides, student guides, job aids, master syllabi, and curriculum outlines.Make suggestions to ISD professionals on ideas to improve training vis-à-vis methodology, design, and delivery as it pertains to their area.Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with other team members.Perform other duties and functions as assigned by management.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in aviation science, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.AND
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the aviation field.OR
Twelve (12) years of experience in the aviation maintenance training industry in positions of increasing responsibility for the C-130J.Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Master's degree in aviation science, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.Five (5) years of training experience in a defense-related industry in positions of increasing responsibility with expert knowledge of the SAT process.Knowledge of defense contracting and the proposal process.five (5) or more years' experience with the maintenance training of pilot, enlisted aircrew, and/or maintenance personnel on DOD fixed wing, and/or rotor and/or tiltrotor aircraft as appropriate such as the V-22, MV-22, KC-130J, C-130, and CH-53.Expert in training in more than one of the following airframes: V-22, MV-22, KC-130J, C-130, and CH-53.
