Advanced Practice Provider - Neurology ClinicSteward Health Care, St Elizabeth's Medical Center, Boston, MA
This position will support patients with epilepsy to regain control over their lives. The APP will perform histories and physical examinations, assess clinical and nonclinical needs, and provide treatments and referrals with a focus on maximizing seizure control and quality of life. The APP will work in partnership with an attending physician and clinical sites will include sessions in Boston and in other suburban locations, creating the perfect environment for professional development and for excellent work-life balance. Subspecialty gender-based care will also be provided for patients who wish to biologically bear children; the APP will participate in preconceptual counselling, sessions for parenting safety, and in developing customized labor and delivery plans as well as providing postpartum support and antiseizure medication adjustment. The APP will have the opportunity to receive training in self-management programs and in programming epilepsy-specific devices. A faculty appointment, academic support for research projects, and mentoring will also be provided, as will time and reimbursement for Continuing Education.
