Job Summary:

Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days/week) neurologist to join a highlyproductive, skilled, and popular neurologist at AVH and selected outreachclinic sites to help meet clinical demands for services and build a neurologyservice for North Country Healthcare (system of 3 Critical Access Hospitals).

Provides office-based general neurology services to new andestablished patients (adolescents age 16 and older as well as adults) including:medication managementeducation and counseling of patients andfamiliesordering diagnostic testsreferral to related other specialties(e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine)locallyreferral to subspecialty neurologists at tertiary care centerscommunication with PCP'sMost commonly diagnoses encountered are:

MigraineMemory LossEssential TremorParkinson's DiseaseCognitive ImpairmentDizzinessEpilepsyMultiple SclerosisPolyneuropathyHeadachePartners with other members of neurology team (e.g., neurologistcolleague, radiologist, EEG technologists, MA's and RN's, physical therapists). Infrequently provides consultation for inpatients (0-3 times/week). More often provides curbside (unofficial)consultations to hospitalist and arranges to see patient in timely manner ( Essential Qualifications:

Prefer candidateshave prior experience (at least 2-5 years) in broad spectrum of generalneurology. Priorexperience in a small hospital or CAH desired. Ability to interpretEEG studies desirable but not required. Ability to perform Botoxinjections desirable but not required. Team oriented, collaborative, andpatient focused. High level of customerservice (patient satisfaction) is expected. Must be comfortable with ruralnature of practice/hospital, only one neurology colleague, solo coverage, andAVH's complement of specialists and diagnostic testing capacity. Selected newgraduates from residency or fellowship training may be eligible.
