Job Description & Position Responsibilities:

Penta Research is seeking a qualified candidate to join a team performing software development in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program. Development will take place in an Agile environment. This position requires a skilled multidisciplined engineer or scientist who enjoys solving complex problems and thrives in a highly collaborative team environment. The candidate must have the ability to implement and test new code, assist with code design, debug problems with existing code, and contribute to software documentation.

Basic Qualifications:5+ years of software development experienceBachelor's degree from an accredited college in engineering, computer science, or similarExperience with at least 2 of the following:

C / C++, Go, JavaScript, Python, Java, Ada

Experience with object-orientation software design and developmentFamiliarity with Visual Studio Code or other IDEs (Eclipse, Intellij, Netbeans, Visual Studio)Experience with Linux/Unix commands and environmentExperience with Configuration Management Tools: (Gitlab, Git)Excellent oral and written communication skillsExperience in a collaborative team environmentPreferred Qualifications:

Experience with Agile Process Tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)Candidates should have a basic understanding of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS).Experience with Redhat (RHEL) 7.x, 8.x.Experience with both SQL and NOSQL databasesExperience with automated testing and continuous integration (CI) principlesTechnical report writingTravel Requirement:
