Gridiron IT is seeking a Unix/Linux Systems Engineer to support a large Federal Enterprise Environment onsite in DC.

Duties:Responsible for the day-to-day management of the UNIX/LINUX server infrastructure.Provides leadership to the UNIX/LINUX Server team, overseeing activities administering, designing, and implementing RedHat Linux server-based solutions.Responsible for incident management as it relates to the UNIX/LINUX server infrastructure.Performs advanced troubleshooting of complex system issues.Works primarily in a virtualized environment.Submit non-prod or PROD Change Requests as necessary to install software/modules or to request database related changes, on behalf of DERA - for OIT/EDW/Database/Firewall teams.Install/upgrade Anaconda distributions, and Python modules/add-ons as requested by DERA usersInstall/upgrade Perl distributions and modulesParticipate in weekly change control meetings on behalf of DERA as required and articulate implementation requirements and details to the Change Control Board.Process user access requests (IDM) and co-ordinate user access with other teams (EDW/Database)Support SAS software and its components on RHEL and Solaris, JupyterHub, OIDS, TCR

Experience:

Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience administrating and managing servers and systems, specializing in UNIX/LINUX operating systems.Must possess a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification or equivalent certification or 10 years of relevant experience.
