About the Team:We are a global team. You will be working with colleagues who bring to life an incredible user experience on TikTok and, in particular, within a product vertical that focusses on creator monetization, content programs and our Livestreaming solution. We work closely with our technology and business teams, helping them to realize their vision by providing holistic legal risk advice that is practical, scalable and based on a deep understanding of the products we support. Responsibilities:- You will act as the primary legal counsel for professionally-created content programs. You will advise on initiatives designed to encourage creators to create diverse, high-quality content on TikTok, as well as general creator monetization features.- You will support the launch of new and updated features and services across all products in our team by identifying and mitigating critical legal risks, addressing pre-litigation disputes and determining appropriate compliance controls. In doing so, you will review products, features, new applications and initiatives, and coordinate global review where appropriate.- You will draft and maintain global online terms for the products you support, interfacing with operations teams who develop policies and processes to operationalise those terms.- You will serve as a partner to those who set direction for their products and you will look for opportunities to address legal issues in creative, business-centric ways while deploying sound judgement in ambiguous situations.- You will build legal processes that mitigate risk and which foster simplicity and scalability. You will allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly, identifying where there is a need for training, guidelines and playbooks for the business.- You will collaborate with your legal colleagues and cross-functionally with product, operations, public policy, communications, privacy and our trust functions, leaning in deeply in jurisdictions where TikTok operates under the scrutiny of regulators.- We may ask you to supervise and guide junior team members.- Periodic limited travel, both domestic and international, may be required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree plus a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.- Member in good standing of the California or New York bar or Registered In-house Counsel in the appropriate jurisdiction.- 5+ years of post-qualification experience, which should include significant experience in product counseling, ideally related to user generated content or professionally-generated content.- 2+ years experience at a recognized law firm.- Comfort working in a global environment with colleagues at all levels in various time zones in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications- 1+ years of in-house experience with a consumer-facing digital platform.- Dual qualified candidates welcomed.- Additional language skills a plus.- A sense of humor, positive attitude, and passion for the creator economy.
