Summary

Simon Group Holdings/ Atlas Oil is seeking a high-energy, results-oriented Insurance Specialist to be our Liability and insurance coverage expert. Under minimal supervision, the Insurance Specialist will perform a variety of insurance related duties in support of Simon Group Holdings portfolio companies, with particular emphasis on Atlas Oil Company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of insurance for Simon Group Holdings, including claims, broker and insurer management and financial analysis and reporting.

Analyzes the insurance needs of the portfolio companies to provide optimum coverage, costs, and claim settlements.

Provide day-to-day claims managements services, including filing of claims, insurer adjuster liaison and correspondence with claimants (injured team members, third party insurance providers etc.)

Develop and maintain internal systems for data collection and entry, financial analysis, and report generation; create and update spreadsheets and logs as necessary.

Collect, classify, and analyze data from multiple sources such as audits, claims, renewals, and financial reporting.

Prepares renewal documentation for Captive Liability insurance program (Workers’ Compensation, Auto and General Liability) and other traditional insurance programs (Excess, Executive Risk, Environmental, Cargo, Property) and policies.

Pursue subrogation opportunities with primary insurers and oversee any salvage opportunities to obtain maximum recovery.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure reporting and processing of all policy audits, payments, claims, and renewals.

Supports loss prevention and safety initiatives.

Manage and maintain the COI program, including annual COI distribution as part of the policy renewal and ongoing support throughout the year.

In conjunction with the legal department, review and redline any customer contracts and agreements that contain insurance language to ensure compliance with our coverage and limits.

Manage the insurance input for customer third party auditing programs like ISNetworld and Veriforce.

Maintain company and individual terminal OHSA logs.

Requirements

ARM or degree in a related field and 5 years’ experience managing insurance programs. Experience with Captive Insurance programs is a bonus.

Subject matter expert on the insurance process, from opening to closing of claims.

Extensive experience in Liability insurance handling (Workers’ Compensation, Auto and General Liability) is a must! Additional training in Worker’s Compensation claims management is a bonus. Knowledge of the Canadian liability insurance process is a bonus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Works well as a team player in a complex high energy environment.

An investigative mind, accuracy, attention to detail, and fluency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
