Description
This position supports the mission and work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization. The House Manager is responsible for the supervision of shelter residents, the physical monitoring of facilities as related to daily maintenance, and documentation of shelter activity. The House Manager provides assistance to shelter residents during a crisis situation and maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Models the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility with co-workers, clients and community partners.Completes resident intakes and maintains accurate documentation of resident activity in daily log and resident file.Counsels residents in areas of housing, budgeting, apartment search, and life skills.Keeps accurate records of resident waiting list.Serves as a liaison between Program Director, Senior House Manager, Case Managers, and residents.Reports all shelter physical conditions to maintenance personnel and Senior House Manager.Prepares shelter resident meals and cleans client units when needed.Keeps close inventory of all shelter food, cleaning items, and household goods.Works in conjunction with CCCY corporate staff and volunteers on mission-based initiatives.Attends regular meetings as assigned by the Program Director.Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and three (2) years of related experience in the social services fieldCrisis intervention skillsCreative problem-solver with mature judgmentComputer proficiency requiredAbility to work flexible hours including weekends and holidaysBi-lingual and CPR/First Aid certification preferred
