Mid-Level Network Engineer

to support the Systems Test Engineering Organization in

Huntsville, Alabama.

The System Test (ST) organization is dynamic and growing engineering team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence. We are hiring engineers for a variety of positions in support of the GMD Systems Engineering and Integration Support Services (SITR) program. We are seeking engineers that are motivated by being part of a mission critical program, learning engineering discipline and rigor, and participating in the digital engineering transformation.

Typical job responsibilities may include:Provide network engineer support to virtual systemsSupport development and baseline of the Integrated Test Event ScheduleSupport Test Planning activities and the development of Test Objectives, Data Requirements and Test RequirementsSupport development of the Test Design, Test Configuration, and Test ScenariosSupport Post-Test activities including Lessons Learned Development and Analysis ReportingCollaborate with peers to ensure schedule commitments are metSupport relevant meetings, reviews, briefings and working groupsWhat Makes BI&A Different:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master 3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Required Qualifications:

Strong oral and written communication skillsAble to travel up to 5% of timeDesired Qualifications:

Understanding of L2 and L3 networking fundamentals at a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) levelAble to configure and troubleshoot Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)Understanding of Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN)Understanding of Virtual Route Forwarding VRF)Experience with Virtual Length Subnet Mask (VLSM) subnetsExperience using VMware vCenterExperience with VMware networkingExperience with multicast networkingExperience supporting a software development processExperience with the Ballistic Missile Defense System, Ground-based Midcourse Defense program and/or the Missile Defense AgencyOrganizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations, etc.Technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, engineering internships or full-time engineering role, etc.Desire to grow skillset and take on new responsibilitiesActive Secret security clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
