Job Summary

The Therapy Lead is a multidisciplinary position that will ensure the needs of the department are aligned with the CAMC Health System regarding regulatory compliance, strategic planning, Human Resources, Budgetary management, and Fiscal management. This lead position will be responsible for program implementation, quality assurance, and educational support, while ensuring a positive work environment is maintained.

Responsibilities• Communicate with the Therapy Director and staff in an appropriate and timely manner regarding all departmental needs. • Collaborate with administrative, medical, nursing and ancillary staff to provide optimum services and comprehensive patient care. • Investigate and assist in problem solving regarding patient and physician complaint situations. • Analyze and distribute workload to determine number of employees needed to complete assignments with least amount of overtime while managing time off to ensure adequate staffing for all regular and holiday schedules. • Clinical duties include 40% patient care Monday through Friday and also must participate in weekend rotation. • Facilitate the effective and efficient transition of patients throughout the system ensuring the coordination of nursing care with therapy care, medical staff, and other departments to provide optimum and comprehensive patient care. • Interview, select, recommend, promote, counsel, evaluate, and discipline personnel within the area of responsibility. • Facilitate the orientation of all new personnel with work environment, equipment, and coworkers while coordinating educational programs with others to meet the needs of the new hires. • In conjunction with director, develop and/or revise policies and procedures for SMC in accordance with acceptable standards, policies and/or rules established by CAMC, state, local and federal regulatory licensing bodies, and professional organizations. • Enforce standards of care/scope of service for department as well as implementing and maintaining a quality assurance program. • Strategic Planning Process - participate in goal planning session with Therapy Director as well as all staff to set yearly goals related to mission, vision, values, and pillars. Also must participate in the annual performance review process. • Assist with payroll functions for the department, including updating payroll records with staff schedule changes, and maintaining pay and benefit records. • Aid Therapy Director with preparation and maintenance of reports and records concerning department activities, such as monthly treatment reports, statistics, calendars, and schedules. • Interpret, administer, and enforce hospital and departmental policies as they affect therapy personnel. • Identify educational needs of current staff and work with manager/direction/Medical staff/peers to coordination education programs to ensure competency is achieved for quality care.
