Navajo Preference Employment Act :In accordance with Navajo Nation and federal law, TCRHCC has implemented an Affirmative Action Plan pursuant to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act. Overview:

POSTION SUMMARYTCRHCC provides the full range of obstetrical and gynecological services. Obstetrical services include routine and complex prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. Gynecological services include preventative and therapeutic treatment of girls, women, and transgender people within the scope of practice. The scope of care may be limited by the facilities. Rarely, the provider may be the sole specialist on duty. Other assignments include consultation services, teaching, and participation in hospital governance.Qualifications:NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONSEducation:A Medical Degree, MD or DO from accredited school of medicineCompletion of a four (4) year residency program in Obstetrics and GynecologyLicense/Certification:Must possess and maintain a current and unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto RicoActive Candidate or Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and GynecologyCredentialing:Must be a credentialed member of the TCRHCC Medical StaffOther Skills and Abilities:A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. Must have the ability to occasionally bend, climb, kneel, and crouch. Must be able to ability to lift, pull, and push frequently up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to over 100 pounds to move patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, et cetera, and in moving equipment and medical supplies. The Incumbent must have the ability for far vision, near vision, color vision, depth perception, seeing fine details, hearing normal speech, telephone use; and, hearing overhead pages over a loudspeaker. Incumbent must be able to utilize bilateral hand with simple and firm grasping, fine manipulation, and frequent use of a keyboard. Must be able to accept flexible schedule to meet unit needs. Incumbent may be environmentally exposed frequently to infectious disease; chemical agents; dust, fumes, gases; and hazardous or moving equipment.Mental:Contacts often require tact and sensitivity as those related to stressful situations such as death, dying, and catastrophic illnesses. Must be able to prioritize and use good judgment. Must be able to coordinate a variety of issues while being frequently interrupted. Must frequently be able to: cope with anger/fear/hostility of others in a calm way; manage altercations; work alone; adapt to shift work; and, work in areas that are close and crowded.Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms all clinical duties necessary to provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to girls and women includes conducting outpatient clinics, delivering babies, performing minor and major surgery, providing ultrasound examinations, and other clinical duties not specified. Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods.In an emergency, maybe be required to perform duties outside the designated area of specialization. Perform cesarean sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve patients' health and deliver infants safely.Prepares appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care. Dictates clinical reports and correspondence concerning patients under his/her care to physicians, hospitals and other individuals and facilities.Refers patients to appropriate contracted medical or other government facilities, providing full clinical information for care and diagnostic procedures that cannot be adequately provided here. Coordinates and integrates information obtained into the ongoing Health Care Program at TCRHCC and assures the provision of timely follow-up care as required.Works closely with allied health professionals (i.e., Community Health Nurse, Social Workers, Health Educator, etc.) to utilize and coordinate the services of other health care professionals in the management of patients medical, psychological, and social problems.Handwriting must be legible and must be willing to use an Electronic Health Record.Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (see CDC website for most current updates)Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee, and external customer satisfaction.Completes all patient care documentation in the electronic health record entries accurately and in real-time.Participates in departmental workflow and or testing teams as related to electronic health record or other project initiativesPerforms other duties as assigned.
